1. English Fairy Tales: Mouse and Mouser by Joseph Jacobs (1890).
A Mouse came to visit a Cat who was sitting behind the hall door, spinning. The Mouse asked what the Cat was doing to which the Cat said she was spinning old breeches. The Mouse and the Cat go on and have a conversation, then at the end the Cat eats the Mouse.
