1. Tibetan Folktales: How the Rabbit Killed the Lion. by A.L. Shelton.
A long time ago, the kind of animals on earth was the lion and in the mornings, every animal would come to him to show their respects. One day there was a lazy rabbit who was feeling so comfortable laying in the grass that he decided not to go show respects to the king. The lion then appeared before him and confronted him on why he had not come to him to show respects. The rabbit figured that if he did not lie his way out of it he would surely lose his life, so he told the lion that he actually was making his way to visit him but he came across a she-devil near a stream of water who scared him, which is why he is now hiding in this grass. The lion asked if the devil had harmed the rabbit, to which the rabbit told the lion no, but that she had told the rabbit to tell the lion that she challenges him to see who is truly the ruler of beasts. The lion decided to go down to the stream and check it out himself. Once the rabbit led the lion down to the water, the rabbit told the lion that the lion's reflection in the water was the devil. At this, the lion threw himself into the water with great rage and drowned himself.
