1. Tibetan Folk Tales: The Tiger and the Frog by Albert Shelton.
A long time ago when all animals understood each other, an old tiger went hunting for food where he encountered a frog on a riverbank. The frog felt sure that the tiger was going to eat him, so he asked the tiger where he was going. The tiger told him he was going into the forest to hunt for something to eat, and that he hadn't eaten in two or three days. He told the frog that he would eat him up, since he can't find anything else, but then asked him who the frog was anyway.
The frog puffed himself up and told the tiger he was the king of the frogs, and that he can do anything. He tested the tiger to see who could jump farther across the river. The tiger agreed and got set to jump. While he was doing this, the frog grabbed on to the end of the tiger's tail, so that when the tiger jumped forth the frog would be thrown away upward across the river. When the tiger landed he looked for the frog, only to find that the frog was way ahead of him.

The frog then challenged the tiger to another challenge, to see who could vomit. The tiger's stomach at this point was empty, and so only a bit of water came up. The frog, however, was able to throw up some tiger hair from previously holding on to the tiger's tail. The tiger was shocked and asked him how he managed to do this, to which the tiger told him that he had killed and eaten a tiger yesterday, and these were just hairs that had not be digested.
At hearing this, the tiger was scared that the frog would eat him too, so he slipped away and ran as fast as he could up the mountain. On his way up, he encountered a fox who asked him what was the matter, and so the tiger told him. The fox laughed and said that it was only a little frog, and that even he could kill him with his foot. The tiger told the fox that if he believed he could kill him then he would go back with the fox, but that they would have to tie their tails together in case the fox got frightened and ran away.
So the two tied their tails together in knots and went down to see the frog. When the frog saw the fox coming with the tiger, he asked the fox if he was bringing him his dinner to eat tied to his tail. At this, the tiger was so scared that fox was taking him to be eaten he ran as fast as he could, dragging the poor fox behind him.
